Curbing
Concrete Contractors Syracuse provides many types of concrete curbing. Concrete curbing is essential to keep tree roots from penetrating through parking lots, preventing vehicles from driving through undesired areas, and containing landscaping.
Sidewalks
For concrete sidewalks to be put in, dirt and grass are first dug out, sides are formed, and concrete will be poured to create a 4-inch thick walkway for pedestrians; this is the typical size for a sidewalk. They are then broom finished to make them slip-resistant.
Slabs
Four to eight inches of concrete with rebar (mesh of steel wires for support) are poured to create concrete slabs for generators and loading docks, as well as install dumpster pads.
Bollards
Steel pipe bollards stick four inches out of the ground and usually four, six, or eight inches in diameter. Concrete gets poured into the base, and the bollard gets filled with concrete as well. These bollards prevent vehicles from hitting and damaging structures and storefronts and traffic from coming into pedestrian areas.
